Ph.D. candidate at the Charles University in Prague
I am a zoologist specializing on vertebrate zoology, I am a part of Fish Evo group focusing on sensory systems and their dynamics in evolution of teleost fishes. In my research, I focus on developmental plasticity of vision in freshwater fish species of central Europe, and also work occassionally with cichlids from west Africa.
I consider art being my hobby which I'm unable to give up on. I discovered the oil painting technique at high school and have been practising since then. Although I was born into a family where no one ever created art (nor was the University graduate in any field - except for father), my parents left me be myself, and I consider myself lucky.
Recently, as the end of my Ph.D. studies is approaching, I decided to return to the sketchbooks and started practising for scientific illustration.
